As trail runners, we hope and expect that you're also good citizens of the trail. By caring for the trails we run on, we promote and encourage others to do the same - which benefits everyone in the long-term via more sustainble and low-impact usage.
LEAVE NO TRACE PRINCIPLES
Tread lightly. Natural areas provide essential habitat for many plants and animals. Look after their home by being a minimal impact visitor and leaving no trace of your visit:
- Take all your rubbish. Remove excess food packaging at home before your visit, and pack strong sealable bags or containers to store food and rubbish.
- Keep creeks clean—they provide valuable habitat for wildlife.
- Leave your domestic animals at home unless the natural area specifically allows them. Domestic animals can distress or kill native animals that live here.
- Stay on track. Minimise erosion by staying on formed tracks.
See the QLD Parks and Wildlife Service guidelines on caring for parks and forests for more information about protecting our environment and heritage in parks.
