1% For The Planet

1% for the Planet is a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual memberships and everyday actions.

1% For The Planet advises business members on strategies for giving, certifies our donations, and amplifies the impact of environmental conservation through their network of partner organisations.

As a 1% For The Planet Business Member, Those Guys Events (organisers of The SEQ Trail Running Series) commits to donate the equivalent of 1% of our gross sales to approved environmental non-profit organisations, every year. This is before costs and regardless of profit.

Every time you buy a race entry with us, we will donate 1% of your purchase to environmental charities.

Those Guys Events has worked with 1% For The Planet to identify two Australian partner organisations as current recipients for our annual donations:

Bush Heritage Australia
Bush Heritage Australia is an independent not-for-profit that buys and manages land, and works in partnerships with Aboriginal people, to conserve our magnificent landscapes and irreplaceable native species forever. Find out more about Bush Heritage Australia here.

Australian Conservation Foundation is Australia’s national environment organisation; 700,000 people who speak out for the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the places and wildlife we love. By running an event by Those Guys Events, you’re supporting us and our environmental giving. However, the urgent issues facing our planet need so much more than they’re currently receiving. 1% For The Planet states that, currently, only 3% of philanthropy goes toward environmental giving.

While there are many ways to give back, 1% for the Planet provides two membership programs: business membership and individual membership, which garner additional value and opportunity to those committed to supporting our planet.

Through business and individual memberships, 1% For The Planet’s goal is to significantly increase the overall amount of global dollars going towards protecting the planet, with the smartest donations possible.
